I have felt like the last 6 months were all just survival mode. Get through the day, not yell at G too much, let the baby vampire suck me dry.
Over the last few weeks I think I have finally gotten into a groove. I've been able to spend more joyous time with Grey. More productive time with Grey. We've started going to library story time each week. Drawing together. But one of the most fun things we are doing is cooking together. I've finally gotten to a point where I am comfortable cooking with Winter in the Beco Carrier. I don't normally like cooking while wearing baby on the front, but I am getting used to it. So G is now my little sous-chef.
We've been baking a couple times a week. Blueberry muffins, zucchini muffins. He helps with the stirring. I measure the ingredients and he pours them in. We've made pizza dough and he is has been helping me with dinner. Seasoning chicken for me. Scooping pasta out of the pasta jar. Even helping cut veggies. The best part is that he is more likely to eat better at dinner because he helped cook the food.
He is so proud of himself when he helps cook and when our finished product is done. The only annoyance is that he ALWAYS wants to help me cook. Even when I don't want help. Or am just making a quick sandwich.
